SipLine Transcription: transcription of recorded calls

SipLine Transcription turns the calls recorded by SipLine into text, on demand.

What SipLine Transcription does

• Three engines to choose from: local Whisper (offline), OpenAI Whisper API or Azure Cognitive Services Speech, with your own key
• Transcription tab: list of recorded calls, search by name or number, filter by transcribed or not transcribed
• Transcribe a call from this tab or by right-clicking it in the call history, and cancel it while it runs
• Listen to each recording with the Play and Stop buttons
• Result saved as Markdown (with a table of date, contact, duration and engine) or plain text, next to the recording or in the folder of your choice
• Transcription language chosen from a list, or automatic detection (French by default)
• Automatic deletion of transcriptions after a configurable number of days (30 by default, 0 to disable)
• Interface available in 20 languages

Local Whisper: everything stays on your computer

• The audio is transcribed on the computer, without an Internet connection and without sending anything.
• Built-in model manager: Tiny (77.7 MB), Base (148 MB), Small (488 MB, recommended) and Medium (1.53 GB).
• Every downloaded model is checked by its size and its SHA-256 hash.

Privacy and security

• Audio is sent to OpenAI or Azure only after your explicit permission in the settings. Their terms and retention rules then apply.
• A cloud request is never retried automatically, to avoid processing and billing the same call twice.
• The log contains no audio, no transcribed text and no full path.
• Recordings are played on the computer, with nothing sent over the network.

Requirements

• SipLine 1.1.407 or later, on Windows 64-bit (x64)
• Calls recorded in SipLine
• Local Whisper: from 77.7 MB to 1.53 GB of disk space, depending on the model
• OpenAI: an OpenAI API key; audio files of 25 MB at most
• Azure: an Azure Speech key and region
• Commercial license
